Audio system for Alzheimer's patients

The system was created as a result of research on the positive effect of music on Alzheimer's and dementia patients.

The songs are linked to a particular memory from the past, can arouse the memory of people dealing with the disease, moreover, hearing over time may

improve communication and language skills.

Most devices found today are clumsy and not communicative to the user. Other existing devices use headphones, which detach the patient further.

This product is designed as an accessible stationary system, the buttons are designed out of inspiration from children's toys In order to enable the user to

activate the product independently and in a respectable way.

The speaker can be removed easily and becomes mobile, thereby connecting the user to the product, accompanies him and encourages interaction and contact with the device.

The speaker is made of wood, a warm material that encourages contact and is known to the user from his past. The net is made of flexible Silicone, again

encouraging contact and the sense of touch.

To help the user identify the device, the design is characterized by clean geometric shapes and is inspired of classical music system as the 

gramophone.
